Day 11 : Sincerity is the way of Salvation (الاجلاص طريق الخلاص ) by Ustadha Eman Al Obaid (HafidhaAllah)
Day 11: Sincerity is the way of salvation
Ustadha Eman started by praising Allah (swt) and sending dua for the students.
When you do things for the sake of Allah (swt) you will attain salvation . That is why Allah (swt) commands us with Al Ikhlas . And Allah (swt) says in the Quran : قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds;
Al Ikhlas in the Religion (الاخلاص في الدين) : to be sincere in your religion . Ad-Deen here means : religion and way of life . How can I be sincere in my life ?
Ibn AlQayyim said : The Religion is based on four rules (الدين يدور علي اربع قواعد): it means Islam should make you better person . Everything in your life is based on 4 things :
Love (حب) : there is things you need to love such as Allah (swt) , Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) ,righteous people ,
Hate (بعض) : there is things you need to hate such as : action , behaviors ,sins , followers of Shaytan ,
Action (فعل) : such us prayer , fasting and so on
Leave (ترك) : things you also need to leave
Your love should be for Allah (swt) ,your hate and ,actions and leaving something should all be for the sake of Allah (swt) .
Hadith : حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ ” مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِلَّهِ وَأَبْغَضَ لِلَّهِ وَأَعْطَى لِلَّهِ وَمَنَعَ لِلَّهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَكْمَلَ الإِيمَانَ ” .The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone loves for Allah’s sake, hates for Allah’s sake, gives for Allah’s sake and withholds for Allah’s sake, he will have perfect faith. Sunan Abi Dawud 4681Book 42, Hadith 86. Sahih Al Albani
This means your love is only for Allah (swt) , and this love is pure as you want to be close to Allah (swt) . You hate for Allah (swt) ,not because of your desires , you hate such things because Allah (swt) hate it . You hate some actions because Allah (swt) hate it . Whatever Allah (swt) forbade us ,you hate it . Even the feeling is Taqwa ,not for your desires . It is very bad to hate because of your desires . Some people hate others because of a situation but they do not hate the people they were supposed to hate such as Pharoah ,Shaytan . It is also that you give for Allah (swt) , not because you want or because your friend gave you ,but you give for the sake of Allah (swt) , it could be gift , words . Imagine you give something to somebody and the person doesn’t appreciate you will not be offended or stop doing good deeds ,because you are doing it for Allah (swt) . We see this example with Abu Bakr AsSiddiq (ra) when he used to provide for the man who accused Aisha(ra) ,and after the accusation he stopped providing and Allah (swt) corrected him on the spot because of his high faith . And when you withhold ,you do it for Allah (swt) . For example you will not visit this person because you know it will decrease your faith . Do not stop for your sake , for example you are in a study circle and a problem come and you stopping learning , or you advise and you stop , do not stop anything because of your desires but for Allah (swt) . When you went to stop ask yourself why am I stopping ? So if you love , and hate , and give and withhold for Allah (swt) you will have complete faith . And if you do this you will have the quality of the Deen , you will have the quality in your emotions and actions ,thus you will have the quality of the Deen .

Ibn Tayminah (Rahimaullah) commented on the previous hadith saying (فآل ابن تيمية رحمه الله ):If One love for Allah and hate for Allah (فانه اذا كان حبه لله وبغضه لله )Give for Allah and withhold for Allah (وعطاؤه لعل ومنعه لله) It shows the complete love for Allah ,complete faith (يدل علي كمال محبته لله كمال الايمان ).
Ikhlas Al Ikhlas in suppressing your anger ( الاخلاص في كظم الغيظ) meaning so much anger . Meaning you swallowed this anger which is in the heart , you stop it from making it apparent .
You are not stopping your anger for any desires as well but for Allah (swt) . And suppressing the anger has many virtues ,Ikhlas is in everything is the way of salvation .
Hadith : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: مَا مِنْ جَرْعَةٍ أَعْظَمَ عِنْدَ اللهِ أَجْرًا مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ كَظَمَهَا عَبْدٌ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللهِ. Ibn ‘Umar said, “There is nothing that is swallowed greater with Allah in reward than a slave of Allah who swallows and contains his rancour out of desire for the pleasure of Allah.” Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1318 Book 57, Hadith 2
Why are you controlling yourself ? Not for the Dunya but seeking the Face of Allah (swt) . Because sometimes we are doing it for the people , husband , we are thinking about what others will say . But when you are doing it sincerely you will have so much reward .
(يكظمها اي يبدعها ويمنع من إظهارها مع كثرتها)
Ibn Qayyim said : chain your anger with the chain of the forbearance, because the anger is like a dog ,if you release it ,it will spoil (قال ابن القيم : أوثق غضبك بسلسلة الحلم فان كلب اذا أفلت أتلف) , instead of showing your anger you suppress it . Sometimes in relation between husband and wife you get angry ,but you need to suppress it .and if you suppress the anger Allah (swt) will reward you , look at Yusuf (as) Allah (swt) called him Mukhlaseen , he suppressed his anger for Allah (swt) ,because she knew Allah (swt) will give him so much reward , similarly with Musa (as) he was so sincere and patient with Bani Israel .
May Allah (swt) make us to do all deeds for the sake of Allah (swt) . May Allah (swt) fills our day with Al Ikhlas . Amen
