Day 12: Sincerity is the way of salvation

Al Ikhlas Tariq Al khalaas 12

Ustadha Eman started by praising Allah (swt) and sending dua for the students.

ثُمَّ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ سَمِعْتُ هَؤُلاَءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلىوسلمَ عَلَى هَذِهِ الأَعْوَادِ .Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid ibn Ziyad that Muhammad ibn Kab al-Quradhi said, ”Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan said from the mimbar, ‘O people! Nothing keeps away what Allah gives and nothing gives what Allah keeps away. The earnestness of the earnest one does not profit him. When Allah desires good for him, he gives him understanding in the deen.’ Then Muawiya said, ‘I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on these blocks of wood.’ ” Al Muwwata Malik book 46 Hadith 8

Ikhlas is something that will never finish ,because our struggle will never finish and we all the time need to renew and learn about Al Ikhlas . Yesterday we talked about how to be sincere in life . You can find Al Ikhlas in everything ,emotions ,feelings , attitude Today we will talk about how to have Al Ikhlas in the patience.

Places for Ikhlas (مجالات الاخلاص) – Sincerity in the patience (الاخلاص في الصبر)
The patience is a praised character but it can be negative when you are doing it because of people . Some people are already patient by nature but they need to do Al Ikhlas . You will not be praised because of that character, why ? because you are not are doing it for Allah (swt) . Some people are also patient because of the people , or because they have no choice , or because people will praise you , or for they own desires . All of this will be dispraised because you are not doing for the good cause . But when you are being patient for the sake of Allah (swt) then it will be praised . Patience is Akhlaaq (manner) . The patience which is outside character required Al Ikhlas from inside .

And those who are constant, seeking the pleasure of their Lord, and keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them secretly and openly and repel evil with good; as for those, they shall have the (happy) issue of the abode.
The patience in everything : you will control yourself ,and stopping yourself from something bad ,or reacting , and that Sabr is seeking the Face of Allah (swt) ,their reformer . Sabr is also a nurturing from Allah (swt) . That is the motive of Sabr . After the Sabr then establish the prayer and you stand with whatever Allah (swt) provided you secretly or in public ,and repel the evil with good , and those people will have a good destination which is paradise . Before all ,you need Sabr . When you do Sabr for the Face of Allah (swt) ,everything will be easier .

Al Ikhlas In the patience is the beneficial patience (الاخلاص في الصبر هو الصبر النافع يحبس نعشه طلبا لمرضاة الله و رجاء التقرب) : this patience will benefit you in the Dunya and Akhira . You see the believer who is patience at home and with his family ,at work will not rewarded if he didn’t do it for the Face of Allah (swt) . The beneficial patience is you hold and control yourself seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt) . Seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt) is what makes you patient. That means you need to purify your patience from the desires . When you are being patience for Allah (swt) ,it will be easier . Notice that if your patience is being affected , if you loose your patience then it was not done for the Face of Allah (swt) . You want to be close to Allah (swt) so you are being patience , not to get any worldly benefit .

Allah (swt) is the One Who will help you for Sabr :
Surah An-Nahl : 127
And be patient and your patience is not but by (the assistance of) Allah, and grieve not for them, and do not distress yourself at what they plan.
We need to be sincere in the patience , Allah (swt) commanded us to do Al Ikhlas , in all your Ibadah , feelings ,dealing with people ,and also in the patience. And Allah (swt) is the One will help you to do Sabr . As Allah (swt) says in Surah Fatiha Iyyaka naabudu wa Iyyaka nastaeen, you just rely on Allah (swt) and He will help you . You can’t worship Allah (swt) without istiaanah in Allah (swt) . And that is the secret of Al Ikhlas . واصبر وما صبرك الا بالله , the ب in بالله is for attachment . Allah (swt) is the one who will help you . You need patience to abstain from the sins . And you need to be patient with the decree of Allah (swt) .
With the command, with the prohibitions and with the decree .

Places for Ikhlas (مجالات الاخلاص) – Sincerity in the Repentance (الاخلاص في التوبة)
Tawbah is returning and repent to Allah (swt) after doing a sin . You need to be sincere to Repent. The first condition of Al Tawbah is repentance .

(بان يكون الانسان مخلصا في التوبةلا يقصد) : to be sincere you need to free your repentance form :

– (مراعاة الناس ) : the sake of the people ,showing people that you repent so people will praise you.
– (تسميعهم) wanting a good reputation, people talk about your repentance . This Tawbah will not be accepted .
– (والتقرب اليهم بشيء) just to draw themselves to the people .

People are Fitnah for each other , and what is the fitnah ? People can affect your sincerity , because you see people in front of you praising you ,dispraising you , gifting you . The jihad with the people is how you keep up with the quality . Because people are tangible and Allah (swt) is Ghayb (unseen) you have tendency to draw closer to people . You need to be patient .
Sometimes people repent to get closer to people but you need to do it for the Face of Allah (swt) .

And (وإنما يقصد بالتوبة الرجوع الي الله حقيقة): but he is truly repenting for the Face of Allah (swt) . One of the scholar said if I can guarantee one deed with Al Ikhlas I will guarantee paradise .
The prostitute had so much Ikhlas as no one was there when she fed the dog, that is why Allah (swt) granted her paradise . Similarly with the children you are not expecting from your them.

Al Ikhlas is a condition in the Tawbah
– Condition from the conditions of acceptance of good deeds (وشرط من شروط العمل الصالح المقبول): The repentance will to be accepted without Al Ikhlas . For any deeds to be accepted should have Al Ikhlas .

Surah Noor :31 and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.
You want the success then repent to Allah (swt) and to not anyone . The believers are the who are sincere in their repentance .when you do everything seats and deed with Al Ikhlas then you will get the title : Al Mukhlaseen, Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
